This is an incredible opportunity and ideal role for your start in finance. As an integral member of this dynamic and collegial team, you will support the Portfolio Managers, Associate Portfolio Managers, Financial Analysts and Traders in aspects of portfolio database management, securities trading, capital markets research, marketing and client communication efforts of the firm.
Educational Requirement:
Enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Finance or Economics, new grads with a graduation date in 2025, as well as an aspiring Chartered Financial Analyst candidate.
Tasks, Role & Responsibilities
Securities & Economic Research
Maintain an awareness of economic, financial market and investment conditions that impact the companies in which we invest.
Perform independent fundamental research on equity and fixed income securities across multiple sectors, reviewing securities that are currently in portfolios and identifying securities for addition to or removal from portfolios.
Assist the Portfolio Managers, Associates and Analysts in sourcing 3rd party research.
Portfolio Manager Database Management:
Organize trading, research notes, corporate actions & manage proxy folders on our platforms.
Categorize securities into their industry classifications within our database.
Client Communication:
Working with Portfolio Managers and Associates in marketing and communication initiatives with clients and prospects building presentations, proposals, tear sheets and other materials as needed.
Contributing to various project initiatives that support our business strategies.
Equity & Fixed Income Trading:
Perform firm-wide portfolio management transactions, including fixed income and equity trading and both individual security trading.
